Coy’s Honey Farm Inc. is a family owned
and operated business. We manage colonies in Arkansas, Missouri, and
Mississippi. Our primary goal is to produce honey but we do pollinate a
few almonds in California.
Our bees collect nectar from Cotton, Soybean, and wildflowers in Northeast
Arkansas and the Delta Region of Mississippi. They also collect
nectar from Spring Ti-Ti, Gallberry, and Chinese Tallow along
Mississippi's Gulf Coast.
We use only
Russian honey bees because they are resistant to varroa mites, tracheal mites and American foul
brood. We are charter members of the Russian Honeybee Breeders Association
(RHBA) and have been Certified Members since 2010. The purpose of the RHBA
is to continually improve the Russian bees’ resistance to mites and
increase honey production. We work diligently to select the queens that
demonstrate the highest levels of resistance so that we can continue to
improve the stock. For more information see the RHBA page on this site.
We
encourage beekeepers to try Russians because of their resistant to pests
and disease. We sell a limited number of queens and 5-frame nucleus hives
each year for those who would like to have Russian honey bees. We sell out
quickly so check out our products page for more details. |
